The Main Crew;
Ash
Outdoor adventure business operator for over 15 years. Ash has worked as a ranger/tour guide with penguins in the far south to crocodiles in the far north. Ash has a Bachelor of Fine Art and Design from Monash University and has worked/studied in both state and federal politics, so he’s always up for a chat on a diverse array of topics. Ash has a detailed knowledge of the places to go, the dangers to be wary of, and how to get you into and out of places you’ll never forget. A capable outdoorsman always up for adventure, he's great at getting you stuck and unstuck in some of the best places in Australia. Ash is First Aid and Surf Rescue qualified.
Esther
The master of keeping things rolling smoothly, Esther has looking after your family down to as fine an art as is possible in rough places. She’s been an integral part of the family adventures, taking the kids to remote places since they were babies. She loves getting out of her comfort zone and back into it!
Jarrah
If it has anything to do with petrol or diesel, he’s into it. 4WDing and camping have been a part of his life since he was a baby. Before he could crawl, he appeared in National Geographic floating on his dad while drifting over a tropical coral reef in Borneo. Now a teenager, he's helping the family run the tours.
Elluka
Lover of anything with slippery or scaly skin. No snake too scary or crocodile too big (at a safe distance, says dad). If she’s not chasing down toothy or venomous animals, she’s trying to outdo the boys on a surfboard and spends as much time in the water as on dry land.
Sienna
Like her older sister, loves reptiles of any size and variety. At 6 years old, she joined a group to chase down a wild crocodile on a remote top-end island!
What We Specialise In
Customise a tour to suit you. If we don’t think we can meet your requirements, we’ll tell you straight. Wanna take pets? Why not? There are so many beautiful spots to bring well-behaved dogs.
Education
A few years back, I was talking to a local acquaintance as he led my kids on horseback around his equine training facility. He said, regarding educational value, he’d rather invest money on travelling with kids over expensive private schools. Now I’m not a one-size-fits-all idealist, but as we were soon to leave for a three-month family adventure, his words hit me right in the confirmation bias sweet spot. Best of all, my wife was a part of the conversation! Of course, our friends have a great many opinions on education, yet Peter’s words held somewhat more sway in my mind because, not only was he a student of the most prestigious and expensive schools in Australia, Melbourne Grammar, he was on their Wall of Honour for his Polar expeditions. If you need more influential firepower to further convince your partner that travelling with the kids is good for their future, Alex Soojung-Kim Pang writes in detail about the educational/vocational benefits of travel.
Environmental Education
Environmental education to suit the locations we visit. Discovering wildlife, both above and below the water, is our speciality.
Outdoor Adventure Activities
Outdoor adventure activities are our profession. Learn bush cooking skills, including how to catch and cook seafood.
